Many thanks to Mr. Mel Palmer for presenting GCSE/AS certificates to last year's Year 11. His amusing and insightful speech will give our former pupils thoughts for their future.

Hungarian Exchange - Budapest 2008
Together with Mrs Sylvester and Mr Redfern, fourteen Year 10 students enjoyed the benefit of experiencing the sights and people of Budapest in October.
Many new friends were made during the visit to Hungary and everyone involved looks forward to entertaining their partners when they arrive for a week's stay in Britain in October 2009.

Sponsored Walk Update
The final sum raised from the St Benedict's Sponsored Walk which took place on Friday 11 July was £4984.00. Many congratulations to Heather Brandon in Year 11, who received a £50 HMV voucher for raising the top amount of £81.40
Authors Come to St. Benedict’s.
During the month of November we are lucky enough to have two authors visiting the school.
On 18th November, Luke Temple is running creative writing workshops working with all year 7 pupils. He is a young author who tours schools talking about his novel ‘Stormy Cliff’ and inspiring young people to write with imagination.
Year 8 pupils from Alcester High School are joining us on the 20th November for a two hour workshop with Chris Ryan.Chris is a ex SAS soldier who now writes for a living.Pupils will be familiar with his Alpha Force series of books about five children who are given assignments to solve.The stories are action packed adventures and Chris will be talking about how he started writing and how he develops his ideas.
Both authors will be bringing copies of their books for pupils to purchase and signing them if required.
6th French Exchange
Between the 19 and 26 October, 23 pupils took part in the sixth French exchange between St Benedict's and Collège A. Camus in Torigni-Sur-Vire, Normandy. The pupils enjoyed visits to “la Cité de la mer” in Cherbourg, Mont-Saint-Michel, the D-Day beaches and the Bayeux tapestry. Everyone had a very enjoyable time.

Awards Evening
Presentation Evening was a very enjoyable occasion and gave the school an opportunity to congratulate our present pupils who have achieved 100 or 200 merits, early GCSEs and various other awards and certificates.
