Twenty-six Sixth Form Biology students attended the 5-day field trip to the Field Studies Council centre at Dale in Pembrokeshire during May. It was a very successful trip with students gaining a thorough grounding in shore ecology, investigative techniques and data analysis.
The weather was excellent, as were the students. The highlight for most was a toss-up between having a whole beach to ourselves, or collecting plankton in the centre's speed boat!
Fairtrade Goodbye
Recently the Fairtrade Justice group met up for the last lunchtime meeting of this half term. The meeting was primarily a celebration and a chance to say ‘Goodbye and Thank you’ to two of our year 11 members, Anna Griffiths and Hannah Hendry. Click here to read more…………….
In Loving Memory
Having raised an astonishing £2,250 at the Cabaret evening in February, our pupils finally honoured their talented friend, the late George Vale, by presenting a cheque to the hospital where he was treated. Evie Hodgson and Harry Gerrard of Year 11 met George's consultant, Dr Pette, at Birmingham Children’s Hospital before visiting the Research Centre for Brain Tumours to see first hand the difference our donation will make.
